Bear Hunting

Jonathan was able to go bear hunting last week with his brothers. They were able to catch one male bear. I was so excited to see all his vidoes of his adventures.

I really wanted to go too so on Monday, Labor Day, Jonathan, Brandon, and I went with Jared and Kelly to go bear hunting again.
We woke up at 2:30 am to drive north near NewHampshire to meet up with them. We got there around 4:30 am. We brought our little girl Amber with us too, we could not leave her behind for this adventure, even though she is a bunny dog, not a bear dog lol...

When we met up with everyone, we hoped into the trucks and headed for our first cornfield to see if there were any bears. They got each dog ready by putting a shocker collar on, their name collar and a GPS collar on them. The GPS was awsome because when the dogs were on the move you could see them running on the screen and when they stoped and treed a bear you would see the dog sitting, that was our chance to run after them in the woods and find them and the bear.

Jared and Kelly were the ones that owned the dogs, there were about six dogs running. The first corn field did not have a bear so we took the dogs on the road and as soon as we drove about 1/4 of a mile they started barking like crazy so they let them loose in the woods. They only chased the bear for about ten minutes before they treed the first bear! I was so excited....

Three of the dogs got attacked by the bear and were bleeding, one dog got his but seriously cut in half you cold see his intestines. I felt so bad for the poor puppy. But I guess that was a minor wound, he has had worse
She was such a beautiful Bear! I never seen one in real Life before until now,

Dont worry we didn't shoot her, she is a nursing mommy

We wanted to see her come down so they took the dogs away because they were scaring her too much and we were able to see her get down. We were so close to her I always thought bears would attack humans but I was wrong again, I wil have to post a video soon,

After we treed her, we took the dogs down the road to another corn field, there we saw a bear right there in the corn, so we let the dogs out. They chased this bear for a solid 45 mins before the bear climbed the tree. It was only about a year old male.

He climbed the tree really hight so Jonathan Climbed the tree up after the bear! I was so scared, but my hubby was such a great tree climber, here is the shot he got of him

Jared is on the right, he also climbed the tree with the bear but he was trying to harrass it a little and a tree brach that the bear was on got him right in the face :(
Kelly and I first thought the bear smacked him across the face and were freaking out, but i am glad it was only a tree.
After bear hunting we took amber and duke out to train for rabbit hunting,

We didn't end up running any rabbits, but it was nice to see amber and duke run the woods in search for them. I thnk amber is getting the hang of hunting, we just need to to find one to chase
first.

It deffently was a long day and I was ready to go to bed.
I couldn't even drive all the way home without taking a 1/2 hour power nap on top of jay!
It was not fun going back to work on tuesday after having so much fun with my Hubby and his family. I can't wait till next weekend because it will be just as fun.....
